IDENTITY VERIFICATION (KYC)
To comply with global regulations and protect the platform, Lince verifies each user’s identity when the account is created and on an ongoing basis thereafter. When you sign up, we ask for accurate personal information, an identification document issued by an official authority, and a biometric verification with liveness detection. For corporate accounts, we also verify the company’s corporate documents, its legal status, and the identity of the individuals who ultimately control it (beneficial owners or UBOs).
Our systems analyze the authenticity of documents against international databases and compare live biometric data with the image on the document to prevent impersonation, account sharing, and identity theft. We also cross-reference users against international sanctions lists, law enforcement alerts, Politically Exposed Person (PEP) classifications, and adverse media sources. When a match or potential match is detected, trained compliance staff review the case to determine whether the user can be onboarded or if additional information is required.
Lince may apply Enhanced Due Diligence to users whose profile, jurisdiction, or financial activity introduces additional risk factors. We can also verify your place of residence using utility bills, lease agreements, or bank statements, so that the correct legal framework, transaction thresholds, and any applicable geographic restrictions are applied to your account.
ANTI-MONEY LAUNDERING (AML) AND ONGOING MONITORING
Lince monitors activity on the platform to prevent fraud, money laundering, and other misuse. Monitoring covers transaction patterns, speed, counterparties, geographic movements, and digital signatures associated with blockchain interactions. Automated systems and compliance specialists work together to ensure that anomalies are identified quickly and that borderline cases receive an informed review.
When account activity or verification information raises concerns, Lince may restrict activity, request clarification, or initiate a formal compliance review. Temporary restrictions may include freezing transactions, disabling withdrawals, or limiting access to certain features until the matter is resolved. If the activity indicates a potential crime or legal obligation, Lince may be required to report the matter to the appropriate authorities. These reports are submitted discreetly and, when required by law, without notifying the user.
Lince applies enhanced due diligence to users associated with jurisdictions classified as high-risk according to international standards, and may impose additional verification requirements or limit access to certain services based on jurisdictional risk. Lince does not onboard individuals or entities when risks cannot be adequately mitigated.
USER RESPONSIBILITIES, DATA RETENTION, AND COOPERATION WITH AUTHORITIES
The user must provide truthful, accurate, and complete information during the onboarding process and update it when circumstances change. Users must not attempt to conceal their identity, hide relevant financial information, or use the platform for unlawful purposes. If you detect that your account has been compromised or notice activity you do not recognize, notify Lince immediately so that we can implement protective measures. Users who do not cooperate with verification requests or who provide misleading information may be subject to account restrictions or closure.
Lince may periodically request updated or additional documentation—particularly when a user begins conducting higher-volume transactions, moves to a new jurisdiction, or exhibits activity inconsistent with their initial profile—to maintain regulatory compliance. Those who respond promptly can avoid service interruptions; those who fail to provide the required information may face account restrictions.
All personal information provided during onboarding or in subsequent verification processes is stored using advanced encryption and strict access controls, in accordance with the GDPR and equivalent frameworks. Lince retains identity data, transaction history, and compliance records for the periods required by AML regulations, typically several years after account closure. Lince does not voluntarily disclose user information. When legally authorized requests are received from regulators or judicial authorities, Lince cooperates in full compliance with applicable privacy laws and international data protection frameworks.
